June 17-July 27 (Summer Session) - Monday - Thursday: 8am to 7pm, Fridays- CLOSED, Saturdays - Math tutoring available in Room 9-206, 10am-2pm
July 29-August 18 - CLOSED
Beginning August 19 (Fall semester) - Monday through Thursday, 8am to 9pm.; Friday 8am to 3pm, Math tutoring available in the Library on Saturdays from am-2pm
The Learning Center has 145 PC and Mac computers that are available for student use. All computers have internet access. Sofware programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher and FrontPage are available, as well as wide variety of additional educational software.
Students may use the computers to:
- Access WebSmart, WebAccess and eCollege
- Write papers
- Do Internet research
- Use instructional software
- Create PowerPoint presentations
- Access faculty assignments / resources
- Print (Students must purchase a print card)
Please ask the Learning Center staff if you need assistance.
The Reading/Writing Lab, 9-206 and 9-257a may also be reserved by faculty.
Mission Statement
While open to the community, the Cañada College Learning Center’s (CCLC) primary mission is student directed. The CCLC provides a variety of support services and resources to assist students in gaining the necessary skills to maximize their scholastic and personal development. The CCLC provides courses, peer and professional tutoring, supplemental instruction, and workshops in a positive and supportive environment.
Program Objectives
Mission, Goals & Objectives: The tutoring program's mission, goals, and objectives are systematically reviewed and revised as needed to reflect the results of assessments and evaluations and changes in the institution's mission and goals.
Scope and Use: The tutoring program has procedures in place to assess the scope and use of the services of the program. Student use of the tutoring program's services is traced on a regular basis in terms of number of tutees, visits per tutee, subject usage, etc.
Tutoring Impact: The tutoring program has procedures in place, qualitative and/or quantitative, for regularly assessing the impact of the program in academic student development domains.
